Piece Of Trash! July 29, 2010 Raven I only wish I had read these reviews before I purchased this overpriced trash. Like so many others, the insert cracked within a year of very light use. Although I had the receipt, I had no luck contacting customer service by phone or email. A pathetic product & company to do business with. Fortunately, there are others far more worthy. Stay away!
So good, then so bad July 16, 2010 Chef This was an amazingly good slow cooker... until the insert randomly cracked while in use. We thought with the All Clad name and reputation and the fact that its a $200 slow cooker they might do something about it. Nope. Its so disappointing because it worked so well and we thought it would last a long time. A long time being more than a year or two. But it didn't. Would not recommend spending the money on something that won't last.
Love my All-Clad cooker June 20, 2010 Slow Cooker (WA) I have been a slow cooker user for about 20 years. When it was time to get my daughter a slow cooker I opted for the All Clad. Even tho it is more expensive, if you use a slow cooker alot you want one that will last. I got one for my Christmas present last year and was elated! If I had the money tho I would say buy the All Clad with the Stainless Steel insert. This way when you need to braise your beef before it goes in the slow cooker you can do it all in one pot right on the stove. Most crock pots won't let you do this but the newest All Clad will.
I love this thing June 19, 2010 A. Harrison I've seen that many people are giving this slow cooker bad reviews becase of bad experiences and so on. Although I have not had one bad experience with this. I have made everything from pulled pork, ribs, a cherry lava cake, some other assorted desserts, and soups. They have all come out so well! The food was delicious and the meats were fall of the bone tender and full of flavor. I love how simple it is to set how long to cook for so I don't have to go through the hassle of timing the food my self. Also the fact that it will keep food warm once the timer goes off for about an hour (most slow cookers have this).
It is very easy to clean, and looks very slick with the stanless steel base and black insert. The food was delicious, I'm very comfortable puting something in it and going on with my day and not having to always check the time to make sure I'm not going to over cook my food, infact I'm cooking something in it right now and I know it will turn out very good. This is one of my favourite buys, there is nothing I don't love about this slow cooker.
Died with no customer service to resuscitate it April 12, 2010 J. brooks (CA USA) 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
We received this as a gift and used it three times over a year and a half. On the third use, it emitted a very bad smell, as though plastic was burning. It was coming from within the unit, so we called all-clad. First, they said that since we didn't have a receipt, they had to go by the date of manufacture, which was over 2 years ago. Second, they said there was nothing to do, as the warranty was expired and we could take or ship it to the ONLY Southern California repair site, which was over 2 hours away.
We have spent a fortune on their excellent stainless cookware and were surprised at this lack of customer service. An email to the company resulted in the same response: tough.
At this price point, the cooker should work more than three times and last more than 1.5 years and be accompanied by something resembling customer service. However, it is one more item that All-Clad has outsourced the manufacture of and apparently does not wish to stand behind.
I'd suggest buying something else even though the exterior looks are very nice.
