Not as good as I've expected and other people claimed.
I've been eating rice for 50 years.
This doesn't cook as good as more expensive cookers.

I got this rice cooker used at Goodwill yesterday for $4.99. I have been wanting to try a rice cooker for years, but didn't feel I could afford one. I have just cooked my first batch of brown rice, and so far so good. I did know to rinse it and soak for 30 minutes, so didn't have any foaming. I knew it was done when the lovely smell of rice spread through the house to the room I was working in. I never noticed that rice smells good before -- guess I was heretofor stuck in the hot kitchen with the boiling pot -- too close to appreciate it! Thanks for all the good advice. I've read through many of the reviews and they are more helpful than the product manual, which I accessed through the internet.

This little rice cooker has been a fantastic gadget for my kitchen because I have always messed up rice one way or another.So, for the sake of saving the life of yet another pot I decided to opt for this rice cooker. It was also highly praised by my in-laws :)
I have only used this a few times but each time my rice has come out absolutely perfect. Its simplicity makes it a breeze to use. Cooking rice was once a juggling act for me but now I literally rinse the rice, dump the water and rice into the pot and set it and forget it. This is really nice because it lets me focus on the main part of dinner. Bye Bye juggling act!! The nonstick pot is great too because it makes cleanup effortless.
If you're reading this and are on the fence I hope that my review has helped ease your concern. Also, if you're getting married I definitely recommend adding it to your registry. I didn't think I needed a rice cooker along with all of the other gadgets or that it was worth the money but for this price and the results it is definitely a must have!
