Nice little vacuum December 29, 2008 I just recently bought a Dirt Devil KWIK. After letting it charge for a day and then using it to suck up the buildup off dirt/dust/who-knows-what around my keyboard and on my jumbled mess of wires, computer equipment, external hard drives and other miscellanea I call my "desk", I must say that this device works as advertised -- if you're dealing with small touch-up jobs and the like. On bigger messes with more accumulation (as in my case) there is *one* fatal flaw that keeps it from getting 5 stars : suction. That's right, there just isn't enough power between the internal Li-Ion batteries and the puny motor to generate the required suction to lift dust off of surfaces, clean out crevices -- like the ones between your keys -- and deal with larger accumulations of debris like dust bunnies etc. Also, there's the problem of the "brush" : Although useful in loosening up packed/caked dust and debris, the problem is that it just spreads said debris around and to make things even more irritating *the brush itself* traps and accumulates some of whatever you're trying to vacuum up which results in the accumulated debris being spread around especially if you vacuum a relatively small/clean surface after doing a dirty one. I would say that the brush is probably the worst part of this package, and is basically a piece of junk. Other than that, the vacuum has a nice, stylish look to it, it's easy to handle and fits in your hand well, and it has a cool little subsurface white light LED that illuminates while it's in its charging base. Also, there's the option of USB *and* regular A/C wall-wart charging.
So it comes down to this : if you have a relatively clean work area, and you use this vacuum regularly (say, once a week or more ) for minor touch-ups and the like, you'll be satisfied. On the other hand, if your work area is a cluttered mess like mine, and it suffers from large accumulations of dust, dirt and debris, you'll be disappointed. For the latter I really recommend a shop vac. ( seriously ) It's the only thing I've used that can rip caked dust/dirt/debris off of a surface or out from a crevice or other small space and also deal with large accumulations involving dust bunnies etc.
A handy handheld vacuum for cleaning the computer December 25, 2008 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
This product feels great in the hand and is very powerful for its size. I would recommend this product for anyone who needs to clean their computer and its components.
Blah~! December 11, 2008 6 out of 8 found this review helpful
When I bought this, I thought it would be great to clean all dust around my desk and electronic. But when I use it, it only suck in the loose dust, if you can blow the dust then you can clean it. Otherwise, if run the surface with your finger, there are still dust. The extended bush only wipe the surface. Does not recharge properly because it is loose when put back to the station. Not only that, it scratches your stuff so you have to hold it in mid air but close enough to actually do something. Overall, save your money and buy those surface wipes instead.
Good mini-vac, but only USB Power November 4, 2008 16 out of 19 found this review helpful
I bought this thinking it would be so handy to help get crumbs and dust out of drawers, cabinets and of course my desk area. The design is sleek and modern, the vacuuming capability is good (what you would expect from a dust buster). My only issue with the product, and it is a big one, is that the only way to charge it is by USB which means it has to live near my computer. My desk if cluttered enough without a mini vacuum on it, I really wish that the USB power supply was an option and not mandatory. If you have the space near your computer then you shouldnt have an issue, otherwise you may want to just want to look for another small vacuum.
