Writing this because I saw a mid range rig on some guy's wishlist and surprisingly he listed this as his card choice. For general everday needs this card may fit the bill. Keep in mind that the TR designation from evga carries a 2 Year limited warranty. If you want to game and get a card that draws less power and is somewhat behind the gtx 280 (the best single dx10 gpu IMHO) then go with the gtx 260 core 216. I own a gtx 280 sli and I can tell you that it draws alot! of power. Three 260's are about equal to two 280's at full load. The gtx 260 216 has also dropped in price so the value of my gtx 280 has gone downhill. It also comes with a lifetime warranty from evga. I dont know about you, but gaming or not, I would pay the extra 50 for the lifetime warranty from EVGA. Oh and I dont know if the 260 comes with an hdmi port, but that would also be something to look at.

I know the chipset is a bit long in the tooth, but I like the stability.
The price is pretty good with the rebate otherwise I doubt I would have bought it.
It installed easy, runs great.
I won't take away a star, but I wish EVGA would offer lifetime guarantees like SOME card makers I've bought.

I used this card as an upgrade to a Geforce 8800GTS. It performs well, doesn't overheat and overall seemed to be the best value for my video encoding and general Windows 7 needs.
